Wilmington Bus Driver Accused Of Inappropriately Touching Child, Police Say
Police are seeking to charge a Wilmington man in the case.
WILMINGTON, MA — A bus driver is accused of inappropriately touching a child in Wilmington, according to police.
The bus driver, a 70-year-old Wilmington man, is being summonsed to Woburn District Court as police are seeking to charge him with assault and battery, indecent assault, and battery on a child under 14.
"The defendant is not being identified at this time since he faces a criminal summons instead of arrest," police said. "He will be identified at a later time if a criminal arraignment is scheduled."

Police were notified of "potentially inappropriate social media activity" by a bus driver in Wilmington on Dec. 8.
The department began an investigation and was then contacted by additional parents regarding the bus driver later that week.

NRT Bus, which provides transportation services for the school district, was notified and suspended the bus driver from his route.
On Dec. 11, one of the parents who contacted police reported that the bus driver allegedly touched their child inappropriately.
Police then reviewed video surveillance footage from the school, and investigators determined that the bus driver "allegedly touched a child inappropriately."
