Petition Started to Bring Back the Carnival
Hundreds of residents have expressed their support with an online petition following this week's Board of Appeals vote.

WILMINGTON, MA - An online petition is gaining a lot of signatures from residents in the hopes of changing this week’s decision by the Board of Appeals regarding the Fourth of July carnival.
The petition online on the site change.org asks residents to sign it to help “continue this event that has brought families together and fun to the town for years.”
UPDATE: As of 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon more than 365 supporters had signed the petition.

The Fourth of July Committee’s proposal to bring the annual carnival this year back to the Town Common area failed this week following a 3-1 vote by the Board of Appeals. The board voted 3-1 with one abstention killing any plans for bringing the annual event back to where it all began. The three members to vote yes were Charles Boyle, Anthony Barletta and Thomas Siracusa. Board of Appeals member Daniel Veerman voted in the no, while Ed Loud abstained due to a conflict of interest.
