Relay for Life KickOff Party, Fundraiser Wednesday Night
Event will be held at the 99 Restaurant, and if you are eating there that night proceeds will also benefit the event.
WILMINGTON, MA - Wilmington’s Relay for Life has announced a new kickoff party concept as they gear up for this year’s event.
On Wednesday night Jan. 27 from 4-11 p.m., the 99 Restaurant at 144 Lowell St in Wilmington will join the Relay for Life in the battle against cancer. As the opening event for the 2016 American Cancer Society summer gathering, the public is invited to kick off the 2016 Relay by dining for a cause.
This year’s Relay committee has combined an easy opportunity to donate with a chance to learn about the family-fun event. The 99 Restaurant will donate 15 percent of sales (both dine in and take out) to Relay when customers present the Relay flyer. The flyer is available from many sources such as the Relay For Life of Wilmington Facebook page or the main event web site. What’s more, there will be an information table there from 6:30-8 p.m. with Relay staff members ready to provide information and answer questions.

Relay For Life is an overnight fun-filled experience to be held on Friday, June 17. Teams of people camp out and take turns walking around a track or designated route. Music, costumes and decorations set the mood. Each team has a representative walking at all times during the event because cancer never sleeps. Activities, food and entertainment are also part of the celebration.
