Richard J. 'Dick' Amber, 73

Richard J. Amber, “Dick”, age 73, of Billerica, formerly of Wilmington and Somerville, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 23, 2013.

Dick was the beloved husband of Marion A. (Whitney) Amber, dear son of the late Joseph and Helen (Lewis) Amber, step-father of Lorie Scafiddi & Rob Toppi of Billerica, and U. S. Army Sgt. Frank & Sommer Scafiddi of Moberly, MO, grandfather of Ronnan, Katelyn, Madyson, and Emmalee, brother of Olive & Gerry Katz of New Ipswich, NH, Pauline & Bob MacDonald  of Malden, MA, Carol Ann & Robert Heinzman of Ocean Shores, WA, and Kenneth Amber of NH.  Dick is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Dick’s life on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St. (Rte. 62), Wilmington.  In lieu of flowers donations in Dick’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701.  Dick was a U. S. Army Veteran, Retired Captain of the Somerville Auxillary Fire Dept., and Retired employee of the Belmont Hill School.  Arrangements under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington
