See Snowfall Totals In Merrimack Valley During Sunday Storm

WILMINGTON, MA — While we were all warm inside watching the Super Bowl, a surprisingly potent snowstorm moved through the region.

The winter storm dropped more snow across the region than forecasts estimated between Sunday and early Monday morning, with some areas reporting upward of 9 inches, according to preliminary totals.

Unless there's a drastic change, this could be the last significant snowfall for a while. The weekly forecast from the National Weather Service shows a gradual warming trend toward Presidents' Day Weekend — with a return to near 60 degrees on Thursday.

The National Weather Service has gathered preliminary snow totals from across the state. North Andover and Tewksbury appeared to be the big winners locally with 5.8 and 6.2 inches, respectively.

These measurements were taken early Monday morning, but may not reflect locally higher or lower amounts:

• Dunstable — 4.3 inches

• N Methuen — 4 inches
• WNW Newburyport — 5.2 inches
• Newburyport — 5 inches
• S Newburyport — 4 inches
• North Andover — 5.8 inches
• SW Tewksbury — 6.2 inches
• Wilmington — 5.1 inches
