Selectman Lou Cimaglia Announces He's Not Seeking Re-Election
After nine years on the Board of Selectmen, Cimaglia won't be running for election for a fourth term.

WILMINGTON, MA - Wilmington Selectman Lou Cimaglia announced this week he won’t be seeking re-election for a fourth term on the board.
Cimaglia made the announcement earlier this week. Cimaglia has served three terms (nine years) on the Board of Selectmen.

The long-time town’s Veterans Agent said he made this decision after talking it over with his family and decided to make the announcement this week to give others the opportunity to run a campaign for the seat in the upcoming election.
The decision, he says will allow him to spend more time focusing on the work he does with local veterans.

“The office here has been so busy and there are a lot of issues surrounding veterans coming home and the high rate of suicides of returning veterans,” Cimaglia says. “I love being a selectmen and was dedicated to that role, but now I want to focus more on helping veterans in our community.”
His role as the town’s Veterans Agent is one he finds incredibly rewarding.
“I love my job,” Cimaglia says. “It’s the most amazing job I’ve ever had and it’s very rewarding.I help veterans and their families. What’s better than that?”
