Massachusetts State Police closed I-93 southbound in Wilmington south of Exit 40 due to a serious motor vehicle accident just before 6 p.m. Monday night. The road reopened just before 6:30 p.m.The accident was on the southbound side of the highway between Exits 39 and 40 and is said to have involved a car and a tractor trailer. Witnesses on the scene say the car was pinned under a tractor trailer.At 6 p.m. State Police closed both sides of I-93 so MedFlight could land. Wilmington Patch will bring you more information as it becomes available.
