Silver Lake Again Tests Over Bacteria Limit

The beach is already officially closed for the summer, so there will be no more testing, the Health Department said.

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's Silver Lake again tested high for bacteria, the Health Department said Tuesday.

Town Beach at Silver Lake had already closed officially for the season Sunday, so there will not be any more tests.

Swimming is "not advised," the Health Department said.

This was the lake's third test showing high bacteria levels of the season. The two previous times, the beach was cleared for swimming following a second test.
