Silver Lake To Undergo Chemical Weed Treatment Wednesday

Residents are encouraged to avoid swimming, fishing and boating on the day of the treatment.

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's Silver Lake will undergo a chemical weed control treatment Wednesday, the town said.

The town's consultant, Solitude Lake Management, recently conducted its annual spring survey of invasive weeds at the lake, and recommended treatment. There was no chemical treatment in 2020 or 2021.

Residents are encouraged to avoid swimming, fishing and boating on the day of the treatment. The town also asked that people refrain from using the lake water to irrigate ornamental plants for three days after the treatment.
