Site Identified For New School Project In Wilmington
A site has been identified for a new pre-K to 5th grade school in Wilmington.
WILMINGTON, MA — The Wildwood School Building Committee has selected a site for the new pre-K to 5th grade school in Wilmington.
The site, known as the North Intermediate School site, is the committee's preferred option to enter the next phase with the Massachusetts School Board Authority.
This option would allow for a school that is about 163,000 square feet, houses 755 students plus pre-K, and includes a 12,000-square-foot gymnasium.

"Some of the things I have heard since first joining Wilmington were the many challenges of our staff, students, and families face in making so many transitions in our small elementary schools on their educational journey," Wilmington Superintendent of Schools Glenn Brand said in a statement. "As an educator, I am thrilled that our community and the members of the building committee have taken the initial steps to address these concerns through the decision to move forward with school consolidation.
"Not only will a new PK-Grade 5 elementary school project take care of these concerns, but immediately bring online a modern educational facility that will bring much-needed improvements to the physical conditions for the Wildwood, Woburn Street and North Intermediate school communities."
