A stellar baseball season came to a close out Saturday for Wilmington as second-seeded Masconomet was too much for the Middlesex League champion Wildcats. Wilmington, which made its way to the quarterfinal round of the North Division 2 tournament thanks to a 1-0 first round win, took to the road on Saturday against Masconomet. Though the Wildcats kept it close, Masco's pitching held the local nine scoreless and earned a 4-0 victory. With the win, Masconomet advanced to the North Division 2 semifinal round, where they will take on Np. 6 Dracut on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. The Wildcats, meanwhile, had their season come to a close with an overall record of 14-8.

Masconomet earned a 4-0 victory on Saturday afternoon.
