Wilmington High Defeats Groton-Dunstable, Advance In State Tournament
The Wilmington High School Boys Lacrosse Team came back from a six-point deficit and narrowly beat Groton-Dunstable 10-8.
WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington High School Boys Lacrosse Team narrowly defeated Groton-Dunstable, 10-8, on Wednesday, advancing to the next round of the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Divison III State Tournament.
The Wildcats will play their next game in the state tournament against Hanover on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Hanover High School.
Groton-Dunstable was up 7-2 at halftime, but the Wildcats fought hard to tie the game 8-8 with three minutes left. Thanks to a solid defensive and offensive effort, the Wildcats held the Crusaders to one goal in the second half and came away with a 10-8 victory to advance to the next round of the state tournament.
