Wilmington Man Faces Possible Jail Time On Drug Charges

What Sheriff's investigators found in his car and found even more of back at his Wilmington home.

A 24-year-old Wilmington is facing possible jail time on felony rug charges.

Mark Ferrara will go before a judge for sentencing on May 3 and could be sent away for as many as six years in state prison for possession and distribution of steroids, under terms of a plea deal being offerered by prosecutors, according to an article appearing in the Union Leader.

Ferrara was the subject of an investigation by the Rockingham County sheriff's Drug Task Force and was pulled over by investigators on Route 125 in Bentwood, NH last June.

A search of Ferrara's vehicle uncovered 8,000 pills of various steroids, 1,090 milliliters of injectable steroids, $1,100 in cash and hypodermic needles, according to the Union Leader article.

During a search of his home in Wilmington, investigators found even more steroids, $47,000 in cash and about 200 hypodermic needles.

Federal prosecutors have offered Ferrara a plea deal that would call for Ferrara to be spend 2-6 years in jail and be on parole for another seven years once he is released. However, in a telephone interview, Ferrara said he has not agreed to the terms of that deal.

Ferrara will be in court again on May 3.
