WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington Public Schools enrollment fell from Oct. 1, 2020 to Oct. 1, 2021, continuing a multi-year decline in the district's enrollment, according to data presented to the School Committee at a recent meeting.

Enrollment fell by 20, from 2,889 students to 2,869 students from 2020 to 2021, as first reported by the Wilmington Apple.

At the elementary school level, there was a rebound from pandemic lows. Kindergarten enrollment fell over 20 percent from 2019 to 2020, but increased by 8 percent from 2020 to 2021. Prekindergarten enrollment, which had collapsed during the pandemic, fully recovered to 70 students, the same number as in 2019.
