Wilmington Public Schools To Provide Childcare At Annual Town Meeting
The meeting is at 9 a.m. Saturday at Wilmington High School and childcare will be provided from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is required.

WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington has announced that childcare will be provided to help out residents participating in Saturday's Annual Town Meeting.
The Annual Town Meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., with check-in starting at 8 a.m., at Wilmington High School, located at 159 Church St.
Childcare for children in grades Pre-K through 6th (ages 3 to 12) will be offered from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The childcare will be provided by Wilmington Public Schools, and parents should check in with their children in WHS front lobby by the school library.

Registration for childcare is required and is available online. The deadline to sign up is 5 p.m. on Thursday and a registration form should be filled out for each child requiring care. Organizers said space will be limited in childcare in order to maintain an appropriate provider-to-child ratio.

Everyone who was registered to vote in Wilmington by April 12, is eligible to participate in Town Meeting, where decisions will be made on budgets, capital projects, zoning articles and other items.
The 2023 Annual Town Meeting Warrant contains a list of the Articles to be voted on at Town Meeting. The articles were previously reviewed during a March 21 joint hearing of the Finance Committee and Planning Board.
In a YouTube video, Wilmington's Town Moderator Jonathan Eaton provides an introduction to the Town of Wilmington's Town Meeting.
Eaton previously published a letter inviting residents to Town Meeting.
"It is my great honor and pleasure to invite you to the Joanne M. Benton Auditorium at Wilmington High School for our Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, April 29," Eaton wrote in a letter posted online.
Eaton added: "I want to extend my gratitude to the town employees who put in a significant amount of work coordinating the logistics of this meeting, the volunteers who work to ensure that the meeting is well-run, and you, the residents, who dedicate the time to attending Town Meeting to make decisions to direct your town government."
