Wilmington Realtor Sending Santa Letters To Local Kids

WILMINGTON, MA — A local realtor is doing her part to bring smiles to the faces of area children this holiday season.

Katie Gills-Ware, of Leading Edge Real Estate, is sending out personalized letters from Santa to children whose parents sign up online.

Gills-Ware, a Wilmington resident who said she works mainly in town, also has placed several boxes around Wilmington, where children can drop off their return letters to old St. Nick.

Gills-Ware said this is the first year she has done this project, which is free.

"(I'm) just giving back to the community I live in, work in and love," Gills-Ware told Patch. "It brings me joy every letter I send out, and the messages I get back are the best."

Parents can sign up online for their children to receive a letter in the mail. The letters will be sent out by Dec. 15, Gills-Ware said.

Gills-Ware has partnered with several local businesses that are hosting Santa mailboxes, where children can drop off their letters back to Santa. Gills-Ware said letters to Santa that include a return address will be sent back to parents discretely, so they can have them as a keepsake.
