Wilmington Recreation Dept. Offering Day Trip To Peaks Island, ME
The July 18 trip to ME will feature round-trip motor coach service, a ferry to the island, golf cart tour and lobster roll luncheon.

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Recreation Department has announced details of a summer motor coach day trip to Peaks Island in Casco Bay, Maine.
The trip is scheduled for July 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and will depart from the Wilmington Town Common parking lot, located at 142 Middlesex Ave.
The trip costs $180 per person, $185 for non-residents, and includes round-trip motor coach transportation to and from Portland, a ferry ride to Peaks Island, a golf cart tour and a lobster roll luncheon. A $25 deposit is due at registration and the final payment is due on June 5, according to organizers.

Peaks Island is the most populous island in Casco Bay, and is located approximately three miles from downtown Portland.
Attendees will bus to the region and then catch a ferry to the island. Upon arrival on Peaks Island, there will be a golf cart tour through the neighborhoods.

"You'll see interesting homes, unique shops, unparalleled ocean views and World War II forts. Maybe even a deer or beaver," organizers of the tour said.
The luncheon will be held at The Inn On Peaks Island and feature New England clam chowder, lobster roll with chips and coleslaw, lemonade and strawberry shortcake for dessert.
Throughout the day, attendees also will have free time to explore Peaks Island on their own, checking out shops, museums or simply relaxing on the sand.
The Wilmington Recreation Department also recently announced details of a summer day trip to see the Texas Tenors on June 20 at Danversport Yacht Club.
Those interested in attending these events have multiple ways to sign up. They can go to the Recreation Department website and click the "Register Online" button, where the trips are listed under the "2023 Trips" tab.
Or, signup can be done in person at the Recreation Office at Town Hall, 121 Glen Road. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
