Wilmington Santa Parade Set For Dec. 5

The Board of Selectmen recently gave their approval to plans for the annual holiday event.

WILMINGTON, MA — Wilmington's 2021 Santa Parade is set for Dec. 5, organizers said after securing Board of Selectmen approval.

The board voted Nov. 8 in favor of holding the annual holiday celebration that day.

The parade will begin at 8 a.m. and collect toy and food donations as well as letters to U.S. service members.

Last year's parade collected "a trailer-load" of toys and food, Police Chief Joe Desmond told the Selectmen.

Officer Dan Furbush, who spearheads the parade, thanked the parade's supporters including volunteers and the residents who come out for it in the cold.

The parade is now in its 6th year.

Coronavirus restrictions will remain in place from last year's parade. More details will be made available on the parade's Facebook page as the event approaches.
