WILMINGTON, MA – Wilmington Community Television will be hosting debates for Wilmington School Committee candidates and Wilmington Select Board candidates on Thursday, April 17, 2025, beginning at 6:30pm.

The debates will air live on WCTV’s main channel (Comcast 9, Verizon 37) and streamed live on WCTV’s website (wctv.org) and YouTube channel (youtube.com/@WCTVWilmington).

The School Committee debate, which is scheduled to run from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, will feature candidates Jesse Fennelly (incumbent), Stephen Turner (incumbent), and Mallory Mahoney. Candidate Becky Lord is unable to attend due to out-of-state travel. These four candidates are competing for three seats.

The Select Board debate, which is scheduled to run from 7:45pm to 8:45pm, will feature candidates Kevin Caira (incumbent), Jacob Gearwar, and Steven Hunt. These three candidates are competing for two seats.

The debate will be moderated by Wilmington Town Moderator Jonathan Eaton.

Candidates will be asked questions from a panel of local journalists, including Peter Currier of the Lowell Sun, Lizzy Hill of the Wilmington Town Crier, and Robert Hayes, of the Wilmington Apple.

The debates will take place at WCTV Studios. Due to space constraints, there will be no in-person studio audience.

For those who can’t watch live, the debates will be available for on-demand viewing beginning the following day on WCTV’s website and YouTube channel.

The last day to register to vote in the Election is Wednesday, April 16, 2025 by 4:30pm.

The deadline to request a Vote by Mail or Absentee Ballot is Friday, April 18, 2025 by 4:30pm.

In-person early voting is happening now through Wednesday, April 23, 2025 in the Town Clerk’s Office during regular Town Hall hours.

Election Day voting is held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 8am to 8pm. Precincts 1-3 vote at the new Wilmington Senior Center (130 Main Street) and Precincts 4-6 vote at the current Wilmington Town Hall (121 Glen Road).
