Wilmington Seeks Feedback On Multi-Family Housing District

Wilmington must create multi-family zoning to comply with a new state law. The town is surveying citizens on the issue.

WILMINGTON, MA — The Town of Wilmington is seeking feedback from residents on the creation of multi-family housing districts. All Massachusetts municipalities are required to create multi-family zoning districts to comply with state law.

Wilmington must create a "multi-family housing zoning district of at least 50 acres that would allow for the possibility of at least 1,248 housing units in the future," according to the town.

Half of the district is required to be within 1/2 mile of the commuter rail station.
