Wilmington Students Working Hard To Save Endangered Animals

The Green Group is selling bracelets in order to adopt endangered animals.

How can you save the endangered animals?

For one group of Wilmington youngsters, you do it one bracelet at a time.

They are known as "The Green Group." Organized by 12-year-old Adele Burton and about a dozen classmates, the group creates jewelry made with beads and paper and makes the items available for sale, according to a story appearing on boston.cbslocal.com.

Money raised from the sale of these items is then used for "virtual adoptions" of endangered animals through the World Wildlife Fund. To date, The Green Group has "adopted 12 animals at a cost of $25 apiece.

The group's goal is to adopt all 100 animals the WWF offers for adoption, according to the boston.cbslocal.com story.

They bracelets sell foir $8 each and have been very popular among schoolmates and teachers. However, they are also available to the general public.
