Wilmington's Analog Devices Names Alan Lee Chief Technology Officer
Lee will be working to expand the company's next-generation analog, mixed-signal, power, software and artificial intelligence capabilities.

WILMINGTON, MA — Analog Devices, Inc., (ADI) a Wilmington-based global semiconductor leader, has announced that Alan Lee has been appointed chief technology officer.
Lee, who comes from a company called AMD, will be working to "advance the next-generation technologies that will disrupt and shape the semiconductor industry," according to ADI.
Lee and his team, ADI said, will be working closely with ADI customers, universities, research organizations and other strategic partners to incubate novel technologies and develop the ecosystems to support their market entry.

"I am delighted to join ADI and continue its legacy of technology leadership at the boundary between the physical and digital domains," Lee said. "ADI has long been synonymous with innovation, and I am looking forward to working with the company's incredible technology talent to further extend ADI's leadership in the years and decades to come."
ADI CEO and Chair Vincent Roche said Lee will be working to expand the company's next-generation analog, mixed-signal, power, software and artificial intelligence capabilities.

"Alan’s breadth and depth of expertise and experience across both the technology and commercial domains will support our goal of delivering significant market impact for our customers through cutting-edge innovation," Roche said.
At AMD, Lee served as the head of research and advanced development. In that role, he directed teams that developed novel hardware, software, artificial intelligence and high-performance computing technologies.
Before that, Lee was the CEO of a privately held company that created technologies for high-frequency trading and quantitative financial analysis. Lee also has worked at Intel and IBM.
Currently, Lee chairs both the CTO Committee for the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) and the CTO Council for the Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA).
Analog, according to its website, is a global semiconductor leader that "combines analog, digital, and software technologies into solutions that help drive advancements in digitized factories, mobility, and digital healthcare, combat climate change, and reliably connect humans and the world."
In January, Gov. Maura Healey visited ADI's Wilmington headquarters and said the company was part of her vision for the state's business and technology future.
"Founded decades ago by two MIT grads, Analog Devices finds innovative solutions to today's biggest challenges," Healey said. "By collaborating with companies like Analog, we'll make Massachusetts a hub for semiconductor and chip innovation and manufacturing."
