Demographic data is not yet available at the town level, but Massachusetts and Middlesex County both became more diverse over the past decade.
In 2010, over 80 percent of Massachusetts and Middlesex County residents classified themselves as white alone; that fraction had fallen below 70 percent in 2020. There were increases in all other racial and ethnic groups, particularly Hispanic or Latino residents and multiracial residents.
