Wilmington's Team Blue Raises Over $2K For Flutie Foundation

The realty company raised the money at a Kentucky Derby party that included prizes, games and contests for best dressed and best hat.

WILMINGTON, MA — Team Blue at ERA Key Realty Services in Wilmington raised $2,245 for the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism at its annual Kentucky Derby Party earlier this month.

On May 6, Team Blue, located at 6 Middlesex Ave, partnered with representatives from several local companies to throw the party. Guests at the party included: clients, friends and family of Team Blue, and employees at DaMore Law.

The event featured raffle prizes, a Derby game and prizes for best dressed and best Derby hat.

The proceeds from the event went to the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, which was started by former Boston College Heisman Trophy winner Doug Flutie and his wife Laurie in 1998 after their son Doug Jr. was diagnosed with Autism at age 3.

The Flutie Foundation provides financial assistance for families caring for a loved one with autism and educates the public about autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

"Each year we choose a different foundation to support at our annual Kentucky Derby Party," said Lori Penney, the leader of Team Blue. "This year we decided to go with the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation because of their wonderful mission to help people and families affected by autism live life to the fullest. It is an honor to support all the families and friends to help them live in a world where people with autism are engaged with their community."

According to Team Blue, the companies whose representatives helped Team Blue throw the party were: DaMore Law, Guarantee Rate Mortgage, Guild Mortgage Company, Leader Bank, Hunt Mortgage, LBP Insurance Agency, LLC, Cross Country Mortgage, Red Door Mobile Bar, WOW Factory Auto Dealing and Scott Advisory Group.
