Winter Storm to Bypass Wilmington

Light snow is possible, but check the forecast throughout the weekend.

The approaching snowstorm that has prompted state of emergency alerts from Virginia up the East Coast to New York City and expected to bring more than a foot of snow to parts of the East Coast this weekend is expected to lightly coat or altogether bypass Wilmington.

Here’s a look at Wilmington’s weekend weather forecast:

  • Friday: Sunny skies Friday morning with a high of 29 degrees. Partly cloudy skies Friday night and a low of 15.
  • Saturday: A 30 percent chance of snow, mostly after 2 p.m. with a high near 29 degrees. Winds Saturday will be coming in from the northeast at 5-11 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph and little or no snow accumulation expected. Saturday night will be cloudy with a chance of snow before 1 a.m. and a low of 20.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny skis Sunday with a high near 32. Partly cloudy skies for Sunday night and a low around 19.
