Your Wilmington Weather: Hot Weather, Risk of Thunderstorms Start the Week

Here's a look at this week's weather forecast.

It’s a big vacation week for many coming off the Fourth of July weekend and the weather seems to be cooperating.

Warm weather starts the week with highs near 90. There’s a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and an even greater chance of more thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon before sun and warm weather return to end the week and into the weekend.

Here’s a look at this week’s forecast, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Monday: Partly cloudy skies and temperatures near 90 degrees on Monday with a high of 88. A few clouds for Monday night with a low of 64.
  • Tuesday: Tuesday starts off partly cloudy before scattered thunderstorms develop in the afternoon, with a high of 86. Tuesday night will be partly cloudy with a low of 69.
  • Wednesday: Another partly cloudy day with thunderstorms likely in the afternoon. Wednesday’s high 89. Thunderstorms Wednesday night will give way to partly cloudy skies overnight with a low of 62.
  • Thursday: Intervals of sun and clouds, high 79. Expect partly cloudy skies Thursday night with a low of 59.
  • Friday: Mostly sunny skies on Friday with a high of 82. A few clouds from time to time Friday night with a low of 62.
