Park Dedicated to Winchester Town Manager
The City of Malden recently renamed the former South Broadway Park to the Richard C. Howard Park.

The City of Malden recently dedicated a park to Winchester’s town manager.
On Saturday, Oct. 5, 2015, the City of Malden renamed the former South Broadway Park to the Richard C. Howard Park.
Howard previously served as Malden’s mayor for 16 years. Howard approved the park’s multi-million dollar rehabilitation plans before leaving office for Winchester.

The tribute to Howard read:
“A visionary with a can-do attitude, Mayor Howard’s legacy is his tireless devotion and commitment to the youth of Malden. Under his leadership, there was unprecedented investment in the public school system and in the city’s recreational facilities. Always willing to make tough choices, Mayor Howard had a unique ability to bring groups together to foster change. Richard C. Howard Park is an example of his persistent determination to transform an underutilized green space into a recreational showpiece through a unique public-private partnership.”
