• Winchester school officials seek $4.5M to fund literacy, equity improvements (winchesternews.org) — Winchester school leaders are asking the town to back a four-year, $4.5 million tax override to upgrade literacy instruction, expand student supports, and reduce inequities among the five elementary schools. The proposal, now before the Select Board, would fund new curricula, intervention staff, and fee-equity measures, while leaving some big-ticket items like eliminating all user fees on a future wish list.
   

• Griffin Museum presents Manifest Destiny exhibition (winchesternews.org) — Winchester’s Griffin Museum of Photography is opening its Manifest Destiny exhibition Jan. 9–March 15, with free admission for Winchester residents and members. The show reexamines American expansion and Indigenous histories through contemporary photography, including projects centered on Martha’s Vineyard, Pine Ridge, and Standing Rock, and features an in-person artist panel and reception later this month.
