2 Injured, 1 To Face Charges After Wednesday Woburn/Wilmington Crash
A Woburn woman and a Lowell man were both hospitalized after the apparent head-on crash, according to Wilmington Police.

WOBURN, MA — A Lowell man will face a series of charges after a crash on Wednesday night near the Woburn/Wilmington town line left him and another person with major injuries, according to Wilmington Police.
Police shared an update on Thursday, saying they responded just after 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday to what appeared to be a head-on crash on Main Street, steps from Wilmington’s border with Woburn.
A Woburn woman, 44, suffered what police described as “serious” injuries, according to police.

The Lowell man, 33, sustained “critical” injuries, police said.
Both drivers were taken to Lahey Hospital in Burlington for treatment.

Though charges had not been filed as of Thursday afternoon, Wilmington Police said the Lowell man will face charges in Woburn District Court at a later date including the following:
- Operating under the influence of liquor causing serious bodily injury
- Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
- Speeding
- Open container violation
- Failure to use headlights
Wednesday night’s crash drew emergency personnel from both Wilmington and Woburn. Crews had to use jaws of life tools to remove both drivers from their respective cars, according to Wilmington Police.
The area of Main Street around the crash site remained closed into Wednesday night as crash reconstruction investigators worked on scene.
Wilmington Police said on Thursday that the crash remained under investigation by both Wilmington Police and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
