Do You Know the Origin of Woburn's Name?
A recent slideshow named Woburn among some of the hard-to-pronounce Massachusetts town names.

Woburn, pronounced woo-burn, is one of the more difficult town names in the state to pronounce, according to a report on the phonetics and origins of a number Massachusetts towns.
We have the Native American roots in the state to thank for some truly unique and, in some cases, downright confusing pronunciations. (Ever had a tourist ask for directions to Glow-ses-ter?)
Woburn, on the other hand, traces its roots back to England. According to Boston.com’s slideshow, the city was “First settled in 1640, two years later the town was named after Woburn, Bedfordshire.”
