Five Police Incidents That Had Woburn Talking

These five stories and  entries had people talking on our Facebook page and readers clicking links this week.

July 1—

Prospect Street neighbors say it was kids from the neighborhood who first saw the fire this afternoon  at 6 1/2 Prospect Street in Woburn.

They told their parents and the parents called 911.

July 2—A Woburn Police officer rescued a small girl and her father from the waters of  Sunday night.

June 30—At 11:50 p.m., police responded to a report of motor vehicle vandalism. According to police, the caller stated that he stopped his son and a neighbor from kissing on his property. The man told his son to leave and saw that his son was holding his car’s rear-view mirror. Charges have not been filed yet. 

July 3—A search warrant execution led to two Woburn residents being summonsed to court for drug charges.

July 2—At 12:59 a.m., an officer responded to a report of two people dressed in black looking into vehicles in the Kimball Court area. When police arrived, an officer found two Burlington residents at Trade Center Park by the pond benches. Police spoke to both individuals, who said they often go there at night to get out of the house. Police asked to look in the bag belonging to the couple, and the pair answered that only 'groceries to feed the ducks' were inside. Police confiscated 7 grams of marijuana and a pipe from the couple's bag. The officer informed both people that there is no trespassing at the park and told them not to return.
