2) Woburn history
Today is City Hall's birthday! Happy Birthday, ! On August 30, 1931—81 years ago—the new $250,000 Woburn City Hall was dedicated in a public ceremony attended by about 5,000 people. The Daily Boston Globe called the building, which housed City Hall offices, the courthouse and the police station, an "outstanding structure."

According to the National Weather Service, it'll be a little warmer than yesterday, but summer is definitely fading toward fall. Temperatures will be in the 80s with a light westerly wind this morning. Sunshine all around with clear skies.

On this day in 30 B.C., Cleopatra, the Queen of Egypt, takes her own life. After a long history of civil wars, conflicts with Rome, and a series of lovers, Cleopatra committed suicide at age 39. Scholars believe that she did so using an asp, a poisonous Egyptian serpent that symbolized divine royalty. Cleopatra opted to kill herself in 30 B.C. rather than live under the Roman Octavian's rule.
