WOBURN, MA — A Wakefield man was arraigned Wednesday on charges linked to an alleged sexual assault in Lexington in 2020, the Middlesex District Attorney’s office said this week.
The District Attorney's office said Wednesday that DeVellis allegedly sexually assaulted a 21-year-old man in April of 2020 after he invited the man over to a home he owned in Lexington to complete some work that needed to be done.
Officials said DeVellis committed the alleged assault after the man lost consciousness at some point during the visit.

Boston 25 reported that DeVellis pleaded not-guilty at his arraignment. The station said it had previously investigated separate allegations dating back to 2016 from individuals who said DeVellis, a now-former orthopedic surgeon, touched them inappropriately while he was working at Excel Orthopedics in Woburn.
A lawyer representing DeVellis told Boston 25 in 2017 that DeVellis denies the allegations.
