ICYMI: Doherty Accepts Woburn City Auditor Position
Charles Doherty will be just the fourth city auditor since 1934, per reports.

Charles Doherty officially accepted the Woburn City Council’s offer to become the newest city auditor, according to published reports.
Doherty has been the deputy auditor for the city since 2010 and is expected to replace retiring city auditor Gerald Surette on July 27, according to the Daily Times Chronicle.
Doherty was unanimously appointed as the new city auditor after receiving nine votes from the nine person city council, according to officials from the City of Woburn. After being declared elected, a motion was made that a communication be sent to the city auditor-elect, indicating a start date of July 27 and asking for Doherty’s written acceptance, city officials said.

Surette was asked to close out the books for fiscal year 2015, which was said to take between two and three weeks, after which Doherty would assume office, city officials said.
According to the Daily Times Chronicle, Doherty will be just the fourth Woburn City Auditor since 1934.
