Monster Dash Costume Road Race Planned In Woburn
The road race will headline a day that also features a children's fun run and a walk option for adults.
WOBURN, MA — Area community members will have the chance to celebrate Halloween early next month as the Woburn Host Lions Club brings back its annual Monster Dash Costume Road Race and Haunted Walk.
The day of events is set for Oct. 16 at Lions Park at Woburn’s Horn Pond. Back for an 11th year, this year’s events include a children's fun run, a 2.1-mile walk, and a 2.5-mile run.
The adult race will kick off around 2 p.m., while the fun run will take place earlier in the day around 1:15 p.m.

The fun run is free while the adult walk and run each cost $20. The fun run is open to participants ages five to 14. The adult walk and run is open to those 14 and older
Race day registration for the events will open at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 1:15 p.m. Participants can also register online ahead of time using the link here.

Participates are invited to run or walk in costume for the chance to win a cash prize for “Best Team Costume.” There are additional cash prizes available for top race finishers and costumes in each age category.
All proceeds from the Monster Dash event will benefit Lions Charities.
Any walkers or runners who register prior to Oct. 14 will receive a t-shirt.
Race-day festivities will feature music from DJ Tumi alongside Halloween games and grilled food. Members of the Woburn Cross Country team will then staff the course to serve as ghouls to entertain participants, as noted on the event's signup page.

Set for Oct. 16, the Monster Dash is just the first of several planned Halloween events in a busy month for the Woburn Lions next month.
The organization’s annual scarecrow contest is running for a third year.
Woburn’s 68th annual Halloween parade is then set for Oct. 30, with band registration and float/group registration now ongoing.
