WOBURN, MA — A popular North Shore chicken sandwich shop is expanding to Woburn this summer.

Flip The Bird, which began in Beverly and now includes locations in Swampscott and Danvers, will open at the former "Wuburger" location at 880 Main Street across from Ferullo Field.

Construction has begun at the location with a formal grand opening date to be determined soon.

Owners Anthony Marino and Victoria Farnsworth own the restaurants that grew out of the "Fried Chicken Fridays" they used to have at the former Marino's Cafe in Beverly. Marino's transformed into Flip The Bird in 2019 and soon gained a fervent following among fried chicken fans across the North Shore.

"We were waiting for the perfect location to pop up that was not too far away from our commissary, but just enough to reach a new market," co-owner Anthony Marino said. "We
loved this location right when we saw it.

"It's very community-driven, which is something we highly value at Flip The Bird."

The menu includes the classic fried chicken sandwich "The O.G." and the "Nashville Hot."

Flip the Bird has also collaborated with Holy Cow on "Good Vibes" honey butter-infused ice cream, and with Coastal Mass Brewing on a "Flock of the Town" summer radler beer using their homemade lemonade.

The hours of the new Woburn location will be from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week with food available for online ordering, takeout and dine-in.
