POLICE LOG: Big Fight on Wright Street, Vehicle Window Shot with BB

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

At 4:19 p.m. police responded to a Wright Street residence on a report of a large fight ongoing in the area. Police spoke to six individuals, three of whom were leaving in a vehicle but observed to have blood on their hands, about the incident. Involved individuals said that the night before one of the involved parties was hit in the mouth with a bottle in an altercation in Reading and that three of the men came to the residence to ‘talk’ to the Woburn residents allegedly involved in the other incident. A fight broke out between the two parties. Everyone said only fists were used and all participants in the fight refused medical treatment and refused to press charges.

Other Incidents
March 15-
At 10:48 a.m. police responded to a 2 Gill Street, Cummings Property, on a report of stolen copper air conditioning coils. The caller said the gate for the excess heating and cooling equipment had been left open and he noticed copper coils missing from five of the AC units. The total worth of the copper was approximately $2000.
At 12:54 p.m. police responded to a Fisher Terrance residence for a report of harassment. When police arrived they found a man outside the residence who said he as there to meet an old friend. Police observed marijuana in his car, and the man also had a bag in his pocket, which police emptied into the streets.
The resident came out to talk with police and said he used to be friends with the other man but was now sober and didn’t want anything more to do with him. The man outside said the resident owed him $100 for a past marijuana sale. Police issued the resident a restraining order against the other man and told the man to top harassing the resident.
March 17-
At 4:01 p.m. police responded to a Waverly Road residence on a report of theft. The caller stated that a woman he was seeing stole a glass jar full of jewelry from his bedroom. The jar had a gold necklace with a nugget made from his parent’s wedding bands that he had melted down. The jar also had a diamond, gold diamonds and two gold wedding bands. Total value roughly $750. Caller said he believed the woman took the jewelry because she didn’t deny it when confronted and left abruptly afterwards.
March 18-
At 8:11 a.m. police responded to a Pine Street residence for a report of damage to a motor vehicle. The caller showed police her Ford Explorer that had the rear window shattered. Police log states it appears the window was shot by a BB.
At 8:31 a.m. an Allen Street caller reported someone egged her house overnight.
At 12:03 p.m. a woman reported her debit card was compromised and that her bank statement revealed that on March 13 it was fraudulently used at a Western Union location. The fraudulent charge was for $245.17.
