POLICE LOG: 'Blue' Man Steals Wallet at Gym

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Aug. 7 – At 6:37 p.m., a Stoneham man reported a motor vehicle break-in at the Boston Sports Club. Witnesses described the man as white, in his 20s, thin build, wearing a blue shirt, light blue gym shorts, blue sneakers with blue laces and a blue hat and driving a gray Ford F-150 pick-up truck. Police said the man used the victim’s car keys, found in an unlocked locker, to gain access to the car and take a wallet and cash. The man then returned the keys to the desk at the gym, saying he had accidentally picked up the wrong keys. Police are investigating.

Aug. 7 –

At 10:52 a.m., a Woburn woman reported her car damaged while it was parked in the Whole Foods lot. A witness told the woman that the car hit hers and fled immediately so he was unable to get a license plate number.

At 11:29 a.m., police responded to a two-car crash on Lexington Street near Willow. According to police, the driver said she was distracted by her child when she rear-ended the car.

At 12:57 p.m., a New Boston Street business reported a customer purchased several pieces of copper plumbing supplies under a company name. According to police, the business learned that the man did not have authority to purchase supplies and was not an employee at the company. The man returned to the business and attempted to buy similar items, but was told that the account was on hold temporarily, said police. Police are investigating, using video surveillance footage.

At 2:50 p.m., a Woburn man reported someone fraudulently filed a tax return using his personal information.

At 3:44 p.m., a Dracut man reported his cell phone stolen from his vehicle while it was parked at the Extra Space Storage on Washington Street. The theft occurred in July, said police.  

At 4:24 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Mishawum Road at the West Marine parking lot entrance. There were no reported injuries.

At 5:05 p.m., a Creston Avenue woman reported her son’s Nintendo DS gaming system and several games were stolen from her residence on Saturday. There were no signs of forced entry, said police.

At 5:58 p.m., a Nashua Street woman reported her glass door shattered at some point during the day. There were no witnesses to the vandalism.

At 7:19 p.m., police responded to a domestic dispute on Prospect Street. According to police, a woman argued with her son regarding empty beer cans found in the home. The son left the area prior to officers arriving on scene, said police.

At 8:01 p.m., police were called to Washington Street near Hawthorne Street for a report of a two-car accident. According to police, one car side-swiped the other while both vehicles were traveling north. One of the cars involved fled the scene, said police. There were no reported injuries.
