POLICE LOG: Couple Squatting at Unoccupied Home

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

July 16 – At 8:05 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance on Prospect Street. According to police, a couple had pitched a tent at a Prospect Street construction site and were planning to sleep there. A man walked by and saw the couple, then confronted them. Police told the couple they could not sleep there and to leave; the man was also asked to leave the area.

July 17 –

At 10:11 a.m., a Woburn woman reported her purse stolen from her car. According to police, the car’s windows were open and the doors were unlocked.

At 3:10 p.m., a Woburn woman reported harassment via Facebook. According to police, the woman said that an acquaintance had been leaving harassing messages about her on the social networking site. Police advised the woman to ignore the man. Police also spoke to the suspect, who said that he “attacks” in retaliation. Police told the man to leave the woman alone.

At 5:35 p.m., officers responded to a domestic incident involving a mother and two children. According to police, the mother requested that her daughter be removed from the property. The woman left for the night to stay with a friend.  

At 5:52 p.m., police were dispatched to a three-car accident on Washington Street near Pernokas Drive. According to police, one vehicle stopped for a pedestrian in the crosswalk, as did the car behind. A third car did not stop in time and struck the other vehicles. Police reported that the third car’s driver said she bent over to pick up a GPS unit that had fallen and did not see that the other cars had stopped.

At 7:04 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street. According to police, one car pulled out of a parking spot, striking a car in the travel lane.

At 10:36 p.m., police were called to a four-car accident on Lexington Street. According to police, a driver looked at a GPS unit and inadvertently veered off the road, striking a parked car, which was then pushed into another parked car and another.
