POLICE LOG: Kissing Leads to Car Vandalism

June 30 – At 11:50 p.m., police responded to a report of motor vehicle vandalism. According to police, the caller stated that he stopped his son and a neighbor from kissing on his property. The man told his son to leave and saw that his son was holding his car’s rear-view mirror. Charges have not been filed yet.

June 29 –
At 4:35 a.m., police responded to Fowle Street for a report of an unwanted party. According to police, a woman stated her ex-boyfriend broke a window and tried to get into the apartment. The man also removed an air conditioner unit from a window in an attempt to break in. The man was gone when police arrived.
At 7:24 a.m., police were dispatched to Lowe’s on Commerce Way for a report of two trucks broken into overnight. According to police, a third-party truck company leaves the vehicles there overnight through a contract with Lowe’s. During the night, someone entered two of the trucks and stole the GPS units.
At 12:37 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Commerce Way and Commonwealth Avenue. According to police, both vehicles were towed from the scene. The driver and passenger were transported to the hospital.
At 12:51 p.m., a police officer spoke to a dog bite victim at Winchester Hospital. According to police, a woman said her neighbor’s dog nipped her leg in an attempt to get to her groceries. Police reported the injury was minor. The report was forwarded to the Animal Control Officer.
At 4:34 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Main and Winn streets. According to police, one car drove through a stop sign and flashing red light. That driver was cited for failure to stop for a stop sign.
At 4:41 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a two-car accident on Mishawum Road near the D’Angelo’s. The drivers told police that the light was yellow and the other direction was green. Police cited one driver for failure to yield for the right of way at an intersection.
At 5:48 p.m., a Woburn woman reported someone used her credit card to make a purchase without her permission.
At 7:36 p.m., a Woburn man reported being a victim of an e-mail phishing scam. Police advised the man to monitor his credit reports and contact Woburn Police if there is any unauthorized activity on his accounts.
At 7:43 p.m., a Worcester man reported a hit-and-run accident on Montvale Avenue. According to police, a car hit the man’s vehicle from behind and drove onto 93 South.
June 30 –
At 7:45 a.m., a Bedford Street woman reported her car damaged while it was parked on Winn Street overnight.
At 8:35 p.m., a Woburn woman reported a designer T-shirt and two pieces of gold jewelry were stolen from her home. The woman told police she believes she knows the suspect. The report was forwarded to the detective division for follow-up.
At 1:07 p.m., police responded to a West Cummings Park suite for a report of a theft. According to police, a man entered the building and stole wallets from two purses while the occupants of the suite were outside. The incident was caught on camera. Police are investigating.
At 1:10 p.m., a woman reported her credit card was used without her permission, possibly by a family member.
At 4:24 p.m., police received a 911 call reporting a fight in progress on Munroe Street. According to police, the men involved refused to discuss the situation with officers. Police advised both men of their rights to obtain a restraining order and recommended they stay away from each other.
At 9:02 p.m., a Billerica man reported he dropped his wallet at a Main Street gas station. When the man went to pick it up, the wallet was gone.
July 1 –
At 6:35 a.m., a Woburn woman reported receiving several harassing phone calls and text messages from a number in Uganda, Africa.
At 3:45 p.m., a woman reported getting into an argument with a neighbor over some work being done to the property.
At 3:57 p.m., police and firefighters responded to a report of a fire at 6 Prospect Street. According to police, the fire was visible from the third floor when officers arrived. Arson investigators are looking into what started the fire.
At 4:47 p.m., police responded to a one-car accident on Main Street near Capozzi Circle. According to police, one driver veered off the road and struck the sidewalk and damaged a city-owned sign before fleeing the scene. Police found the driver’s license plate at the scene and issued a citation.

July 2 –
At 12: 39 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Merrimac and New Boston streets. According to police, one driver, in a fit of road-rage, slammed into the back of the other car twice, forcing it into a fence. Witnesses told police that the incident began in Burlington, when the occupants of the second vehicle started a verbal shouting match. After the accident, the occupants of the second car fled the scene.
