POLICE LOG: Man Robbed, Suspect Had Syringe

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

July 7 – At 1:50 p.m., a Woburn man reported he was robbed of his medication on July 6. According to police, the man told the officer that he was in his apartment when the suspect suddenly raised a syringe to his neck and demanded his prescription Oxycodone pills. The man gave the suspect the pills, reported the officer. Police attempted to contact the suspect, who was not home.

July 6 –

At 10:50 a.m., a caller reported a fight between two men on Jones Avenue. According to police, two brothers argued. Police advised one of the brothers to leave the residence.

At 12:34 p.m., a Billerica man reported a GPS unit stolen from his car while it was parked on New Boston Street.

At 3:04 p.m., a Woburn woman reported receiving several harassing text messages from her former boyfriend. According to police, the woman’s phone company did block the phone number from her phone.

At 8:07 p.m., police assisted a resident with an unwanted party. According to police, a man said he wanted to collect his keys and some belongings from his former home. The owner asked police to put a no trespass order on the man, which they did. The man was given his belongings from the former owner and escorted to another Woburn residence.

July 7 –

At 12:57 a.m., a man running down Warrant Avenue flagged down a police officer and said that a friend of his needed help. Police drove the man to the friend’s house, where the officer knocked on the door repeatedly. The friend finally opened the door, said police, and told officers she was fine.

At 2:55 a.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted female party on Lexington Street. According to police, a man asked officers to remove his girlfriend from the property. The woman gathered some of her belongings and told police she could not drive because she had been drinking. Police drove the woman to the police station so she could arrange for a ride.

At 10:36 a.m., a Woburn man reported his credit card was used in Stamford, CT without his permission. According to police, the man said he had never been in Stamford and he did not authorize anyone to use his credit card. The card was shredded by the man’s bank, said police.

At 7:05 p.m., a Woburn man approached a police officer working on Cambridge Road to report that his car was vandalized earlier in the day. According to police, the car’s license plates were ripped off, the headlights were smashed, the interior radio plate was torn away and several wires were pulled out. Nothing was stolen from the vehicle, said police. The man told police he has no enemies and does not know who would have vandalized his car.  

July 9 –

At 12:16 a.m., the NStar substation’s security company reported seeing two men walking on the Cove Street property with flashlights. The company told police that no employees should be on the property at that time. Police, along with Winchester Police officers and a State Police K-9 unit, searched the property for the two suspects, finding an entry point on the northern side of the fenced-in area. The K-9 unit and officers were unable to find the suspects, after searching the property, the building and outside the fence. The security company also conducted a check of the area with police, finding no one on the property. Police cleared the scene at 2:30 a.m.
