POLICE LOG: Multiple Reports of Credit Card Misuse/Fraud

At 6:59 p.m. police responded to a Cambridge Road caller on a report of larceny. Caller said he became aware of some possible fraudulent withdrawals on his bank account. He said his bank had contacted him about recent charges made around the Boston area, including $637.49 at a Best Buy in Dorchester that was charged while he was at work. Another charge was for $681.54 and there were multiple small charges.

Other Incidents
March 7-
At 8:30 a.m. a woman came to the station to report credit card misuses. The woman said that her debit card was fraudulently used between March 4 and March 6. She stated she thought it was compromised electronically. Her bank was notified and stopped the account. Total amount of fraudulent charges was $1,173.61
March 6-
At 6:35 p.m. police responded to the 7-Eleven on Montvale Avenue on a report of shoplifting. The store manager had one shoplifter in custody who he said attempted to steal a stick of beef jerky. A second suspect had fled the store. Police spoke with the suspect in custody who agreed to pay for the item he tried to steal and the sandwich the other suspect allegedly took. The store manager was happy with the outcome and did not wish to press charges.
At 6:54 p.m. a woman came to the station to report past threats. She said her ex-boyfriend he had made threats against her regarding a firearm. According to the woman her ex-boyfriend told her he had recently purchased a firearm in spite of her. Police advised her of her rights for a restraining order.
At 6:57 p.m. police responded to a Washington Street residence on a report of credit card fraud. Caller said that at 5:30 p.m. she called her bank for a balance request and noticed that $400 had been taken out of her bank account at 8:30 a.m. that morning. From an ATM at 358 Cambridge Road in Woburn. Caller said she did not have any knowledge of this transaction and that her debit card had been on her person all day. The bank froze her account and made contact with the fraud department.
