At 10:36 a.m. police responded to a Russell Street residence for a call of breaking and entering. The victim stated he heard his garage door open, which was not unusual because he has contractors working at the house. He became suspicious when he looked out and didn’t see the contactor’s vehicle.

He checked the garage and saw a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, 215 pounds, with light brown hair and wearing jeans, boots and a light-blue sweatshirt standing in the doorway. When the suspect saw the homeowner he ran from the area towards Four Corners.

Police and the Billerica Police K9 unit searched the area but did not find the suspect. Police believe he may have left in a vehicle because the track of the K9 ended abruptly.

No items were reported missing from the residence.
