Quinn Appointed City Building Commissioner

New appointee exhibits "professionalism" and "strong customer service," says Mayor Scott Galvin.

 

A lifelong Woburn resident has been named the city's new Building Commissioner.

Thomas C. Quinn Jr. was appointed Building Commissioner by Mayor Scott Galvin last week.

“Tom has been doing the job since Steve Paris retired last year and has stressed the importance of professionalism and strong customer service,” said Mayor Galvin. “I am pleased with the direction of Inspectional Services, and feel he has earned the position based on his experience and strong performance over the past years.”

According to the mayor's office, Quinn, a lifelong resident of Woburn, graduated Woburn Senior High School with the class of 1985. He studied business at Middlesex Community College, and furthered his education in the field of construction at Wentworth Institute of Technology, said the mayor.

Quinn is the husband of Ann Louise (Barrone), and the father of Meghan Theresa and Thomas Charles Quinn III. 

For the last seven years, he has served as a Woburn Building inspector, and more recently fulfilled the role of interim Commissioner. Quinn’s service to the City of Woburn stretches back 25 years, and includes 17 years as construction supervisor for the Woburn Public School System.

Quinn is certified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as both a Building Commissioner and a Licensed Construction Supervisor. Quinn is also an International Code Council Certified Building Inspector and International Code Council Certified Building Official.
