Spence Farm Offers Classes at Farmers Market

City teams up with local farm to offer classes, demonstrations.

 

Over the last 18 months, the city's at has thrived. In addition to offering local foods and merchandise, residents teamed up to win a grant for a fruit orchard at the farm.

And now, classes will be offered during several Sunday markets in the summer and fall.

The Woburn Agriculture Commission and Soluna Garden Farms have teamed up to offer the farming classes and materials to anyone in attendance.

Farming Classes Schedule

July 22—2 p.m.—Soluna Farm workshop (after the Farmers Market) - Learn about Reused & Recycled Objects for the Yard & Garden (free).

Aug 5—11 a.m.—Soluna Farm demonstration during the Farmers Market - Pesto, Sauces & Condiments form Fresh Herbs (free).

Aug 12—2:30 p.m.—Soluna Farm workshop (after the Farmers Market) - Composing Basics (free).

Sept 9—11 a.m.—Soluna Farm demonstration during the Farmers Market - Pickle Making (free).

Sept 12—Wednesday, 6:30 to 8 p.m.—Soluna Farm presents Learn about Preserving the Summer Harvest (free).

Oct 14—2 p.m.—Soluna Farm workshop (after the Farmers Market) - Learn Root Cellaring Without a Root Cellar (free).
