UPDATED: WPD Quickly Arrest Suspect After Bank Robbery

Thursday, 9:25 a.m.—Woburn Police reported Thursday that Michael Kimball, 34, of 252 Medford St. Apt. #309 in Somerville, was arrested and charged with armed robbery (subsequent offense), leaving the scene of an accident and an outstanding warrant for unarmed robbery after Wednesday afternoon's incident on Main Street.

At 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to a 911 report of a bank robbery at the Northern Bank and Trust on Main Street. According to police, witnesses described the subject and several officers were looking for the man.

The suspect had reportedly crashed his car on Central Street, near Grape Street, and fled the area on foot.

An officer working a detail located a man matching the description on Montvale Avenue. 

During the incident, police reported that the suspect ordered the tellers to give him all of the money in the drawers. The tellers gave him approximately $6,000, believing that the suspect had a firearm under his shirt.

Witnesses positively identified Kimball as the man involved in the incidents, according to police reports.

Wednesday, 4:39 p.m.— responded to a bank robbery at the Northern Bank and Trust at 308 Main St. shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The suspect was described at a white male, about 6 feet tall, in his late 20s, wearing a black T-shirt and a gray hoodie sweatshirt with designs on it. The man was also reportedly wearing a knit winter cap.

The 911 call came in at 4:22 p.m. reported Woburn Police. The suspect allegedly crashed his vehicle six minutes later at 4:28 p.m. and ran from the car, said police.

At 4:35 p.m., police officers at the 7-11 on Montvale Avenue reported that one person was in custody and under arrest. 

According to police reports, the suspect had cash on his person from the robbery.

The suspect was shown to witnesses of the robbery. A car related to the incident was towed by Woburn Police.
