2 Men Caught After Dealing Cocaine In Worcester, Police Say

Police observed a drug deal on Chandler Street on Wednesday.

WORCESTER, MA — Two men are facing charges after officers witnessed a drug deal in Worcester.

Adonny Aviles, 21, and Jose Diaz, 55, were seen dealing drugs on Chandler Street around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Worcester police. Officers later caught the men near the corner of Main Street and Ionic Avenue.

Police said that Aviles first ran from officers, but when he was stopped, they found a large amount of crack cocaine on his person.

Diaz was arrested after police saw him throwing drugs under a parked vehicle.

The drugs weighed 18.5 grams, according to police. That is considered a trafficking weight.

Both men were charged with Trafficking in Class B 18-36 Grams, Possession to Distribute Class B (Subsequent) and Conspiracy to Violate Controlled Substance Laws, according to police.

The man who bought the drugs was stopped, and officers found a baggie of crack cocaine. He was summoned to court, but police did not release his name.
