3 Appointed To Quinsigamond Community College Board Of Trustees

They were appointed to the 10-person board by Gov. Maura Healey earlier this fall.

WORCESTER, MA — Three people have been appointed to the Quinsigamond Community College Board of Trustees.

Max German, Maricelis “Mari” Gonzalez, and Jessica Mandes were appointed to the 10-person board by Gov. Maura Healey earlier this fall following recommendations from the Public Education Nominating Council.

German, who is currently a student at Boston College Law School and a QCC alum, brings experience in labor, politics and government and is deeply connected to Worcester.

Gonzalez is the executive director of El Buen Samaritano Food Program Inc., a Worcester nonprofit that combats food insecurity and supports vulnerable families.

She is also a member of Gov. Healey's Latino Empowerment Council. She has earned honors, like Worcester Business Journal’s 2025 Nonprofit Business Leader of the Year and Telegram & Gazette’s “Hometown Hero” recognition in 2021.

Mandes is a Worcester native and a first-generation college graduate. Mandes has over 25 years of experience in youth work and 15 years in public education, and advocates for multilingual learners on several boards, including Worcester Latino Dollars for Scholars.

“These new trustees bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to education and community,” said QCC President Dr. Luis Pedraja. “Their leadership will help guide QCC as we continue to serve our students and the region.”
