Athol Marijuana Facility Would Create 100s Of Jobs
A large medical marijuana facility is proposed for an old mill in Athol, MA.

ATHOL, MA—Supporters say a huge medical marijuana growing operation in a vacant mill in Athol could create hundreds of jobs, according to reports.
Athol's Town Manager Shaun Suhoski told the Worcester Telegram and Gazette that he is working on an agreement for this medical marijuana cultivation facility at 134 Chestnut Hill Ave., which is the former site of the Union Twist Drill Company. The facility could create up to 500 jobs.
The nonprofit Herbology Group holds a provisional license for the facility, and its spokesperson Frank Perullo said the developer would start with 100,000 square feet of the available 365,000 square feet, according to WCVB-TV. Eventually, the company would develop the whole complex.

The Herbology Group's website's domain appears to have lapsed, but the group is active on Twitter.
According to the Greenfield Recorder, the developer, Sea Hunter Therapeutics, "is a for-profit company that provides capital and intellectual property to Herbology, the license holder." Herbology operates facilities in Cambridge, Brockton and Taunton.
