Bar Serving 'Sacred Root' Drinks Coming To Worcester
The second location of Root Awakening Kava Bar will open in a former tire shop.

WORCESTER, MA — A new type of bar serving drinks with a root that "promotes a relaxed and calm feeling" is planning to open in Worcester's Canal District, according to city filings.
Root Awakening Kava Bar — which has a location in Nashua, NH — is planning to open at 180 Harding St., the former home of a tire shop. The owners will go before the Worcester License Commission Thursday seeking a license to operate, according to the agenda.
The bar won't serve any alcohol. The kava root infusions promise relaxing experiences targeting either the mind or body, or both, according to the menu for the New Hampshire location. The Nashua location also serves cold brew coffee, kombucha and snacks.
